Retired Nollywood actress, Victoria Inyama has described 70% of Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi’s supporters as ‘Zombidients’ and ‘Obidiots’.
Inyama made the above assertion whilst reacting to an Instagram post by Daddy Freeze, wherein he categorized Obi’s supporters into three classes.
On August 31, 2022, Freeze classified Obi’s supporters as either ‘Obidient’, ‘Zombidients’ or ‘Obidiots.’
“Peter Obi supporters can be classified into 3 main groups: 1: Obidients: Amazing guys who understand his philosophy and support him passionately. 2: Zombidients: These ones just dey follow Obi cluelessly with their eyes closed as the name suggests,” he wrote.
“3: Obidiots: A coagulation of louts and touts lurking online and offline, ready to jump and attack anyone who doesn’t support Obi. Which of these do you fall into? ~FRZ.”
Taking to the comments section of the post, Inyama suggested that 70% of Obi’s followership comprised of the latter two, Zombidients and Obidiots.
“Number 2 and 3 are major 70% Ask what they are supporting him for and no clue 😂😂😂😂,” she wrote.
Inyama’s recent statements come just days after Brymo, the Nigerian singer, also took a swipe at Obi’s supporters during a rant on Twitter.
In a series of tweets shared via his official Twitter page, the singer condemned Obi’s supporters criticizing him for supporting Asiwaju.
Brymo has been vocal about his support for ex-Lagos state governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the All Progressive’s Congress (APC) presidential candidate.
According to Brymo, he holds the strong belief that Tinubu is the candidate to move the country forward.
The singer dared Obi supporters to come forward with arguments to prove that their candidate is a better choice. Brymo also accused supporters of the ex-Anambra state governor of bullying others in supporting their candidate.
“And since we’re being petty, and scolding each other for making terrible choices; Obedience suggests y’all are being commanded. I will not take part in the festering of tyrannical leanings.. you are already displaying symptoms of it too, insist on your way without explain!” one of his tweets read
The “Ara” singer subsequently slammed the “Obidient” slogan which has become popular among Obi supporters, calling it a “movement that spells doom”.
According to Brymo, to be Obidient suggests that Obi’s supporters are “being commanded”.
Earlier in the month, veteran musician, Femi Kuti came underfire after being accused of referring to Peter Obi supporters as zombies. The singer has since denied making any such statement.
According to Kuti, he only said that he was too “angry, sad” to be Obidient.
The singer made the above known as he revealed that he had been receiving threats directed at himself and his family in light of the false accusations.
“I woke up today to insults, abusing me, my family, and my children. They threatened me saying they would burn the shrine because they said I said Peter Obi supporters are Zombies,” Femi said.
“First, what I said was that I was too angry, sad, and depressed to be obedient. How can anybody come up with such a term? I can’t be obedient in this country. Endsars, killings, my grandmother was killed and my father’s house burned, the oppression of my family, and I’m supposed to be obedient?
“Obedient is sitting when you’re told to sit. I said Obi was friends with Atiku, becoming his vice president. If they had won, they’d be pals by now. I didn’t call Peter Obi supporters Zombies.”
